Questions, answered

What is a JT&L account number and how do I use it?

When you sign up you get a personal account number (for example JTL12345) attached to our overseas warehouse address. Use that full address — including your account number — at checkout on any US store. The account number is how we know the package is yours the moment it arrives.

How long does shipping take?

Typically 3–5 business days from the package reaching our overseas warehouse to being ready in Jamaica, depending on customs clearance. We're not able to control delays caused by airlines, weather, port congestion or customs inspections, but we'll keep you posted by email if one happens.

What is a pre-alert and why should I send one?

A pre-alert tells us a package is on the way — the courier, tracking number and invoice. It speeds up matching and customs clearance, and it's the best protection against a package sitting unidentified. Packages that arrive without your account number on the label attract a bad-address processing fee.

Why do you need my TRN?

Jamaica Customs requires us to hold the Taxpayer Registration Number of account holders so we can clear your imported goods. It stays confidential and is shared only with customs and government authorities during official declarations. Clearance is severely delayed if your TRN is missing.

How do I pay?

Pay when you collect. We accept cash in person at pickup, or direct bank transfer to the company account. Bank transfers need proof of payment and take roughly 1–3 business days to clear, so start them early to avoid pickup delays. Payments must match the account holder's name — third-party payments need prior written approval.

How long can my package stay before storage fees start?

Storage is free for the first 14 calendar days after we tell you the package is available for pickup. From day 15 it accrues at J$100 per package per day, up to a maximum of 30 assessable days. Packages left uncollected for more than 90 days are treated as abandoned.

Are my packages insured?

Cargo cover applies against loss or complete destruction while your package is in our custody, capped at US$2,500 per shipment and calculated on verified invoice value less depreciation. Claims must be raised at the point of pickup or delivery — inspect your package before you leave. Cover does not extend to customs confiscation, prohibited items, perishables or vendor errors.

Do you deliver to my parish?

Yes — we deliver to all fourteen parishes. Delivery may be suspended during severe weather, flooding or other hazardous conditions, and we'll let you know if that affects your shipment.
